DescriptionSeveral large and small academic buildings are situated on a hilltop. Two of the largest buildings have cupolas. One has a central pediment. A small domed tower at the far right appears to be an observatory. Trees, including poplars, dot the open fields, which are divided by rail fences, including Virginia rail fences. Two horse-drawn vehicles and several men are in the distance. Two cows are in a distant field. Two more cows stand beneath a group of trees in the center foreground. Additional trees are in the left and right foreground.
