A panoramic photograph of a group of individuals attending the 41st Annual Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Boston, Massachusetts on June 20-25, 1950. NAACP staff in the photograph include Walter White, James McClendon, Lillian Jackson, Arthur Spingarn, and Roy Wilkins. The photograph was taken outside the Union Methodist Church which hosted the conference that year. It was at this conference that the NAACP voted to pursue Brown v. Board of Education and decided that it was time to attack codified segregation wherever it persisted.
