DescriptionA woman stands at the right on the broad base of a marble monument. She wears a dress with a belt, a rectangular brooch, a shawl, and a straw bonnet trimmed with flowers beneath the brim and tied with a ribbon bow beneath her chin. A purse or reticule dangles from her left hand. The monument has a high, rectangular base surmounted by an urn or lamp. It is surrounded by dense foliage, primarily flowering plants, including roses. A weeping willow arches overhead, and an evergreen tree is at the far left. Trees dot a grassy field in the right background. A small town, with two churches and other buildings, is in the distance.
