DescriptionTwo round, white, vitrified china dinner plates, each with a band of red inlay running around the rim of each plate. The band is about a quarter-inch wide and sits about a quarter-inch in from the edge of the rim. The stripe is not continuous, as it is interrupted for about 1 3/8 inch, with a gilded design. The gilded design shows a sphinx with one paw on a sheild with the letter "H". A crown floats above the shield. Below the sphinx, shield, and crown, a banner reads "THE HEUBLEIN". There are minimal light scratches in the center of both plates.

MarkingsUnderglaze green, stamped mark found on the bottom of both plates, reads, "STERLING/ Vitrified China/ EAST*LIVERPOOL*OHIO/ U*S*A*/ B5".NotesSubject Note: The Heublein Hotel was most likely demolished around the 1960s, shortly after these dinner plates were purchased.
