DescriptionRocco Thomas Capobianco's WWII Army Air Corps uniform (a) shirt and (b) pants.
(a) The shirt features two breast pockets and long sleeves. The front closure button holes are reinforced a 1 1/4" wide khaki cotton decorative facing along the front of the shirt and above the cuffs. The pocket flaps are beveled in the traditional army style and are closed with a single button. The front is closed with seven brown plastic buttons and the cuffs are closed with a single button. It has a two-piece 'band' collar, which consists of a 1" wide band which is sewn around the top opening onto which the collar proper is sewn. There are Air Corps and Army patches on the sleeves
(b) The pants are constructed of a medium weight, khaki cotton with a button fly and full legs. They have front slash hanging pockets and horizontal rear hanging pockets with no flaps. There is a hanging watch pocket over the proper right front pocket. The fly is hidden, with five brown plastic closure buttons and the trousers have belt loops for the regulation web belt. A triangular gas flap, constructed of a single layer of khaki cotton has been added to the button side of the fly inside and an additional button is sewn to the opposite side to close it. The identification tag is sewn to the underside of the front proper right hanging pocket.
