DescriptionHalf-length portrait of Frederick Stiles Jewett attributed to William Prior Hart. Stiles is a young man with blonde hair, a reddish beard, and blue eyes. He is seated in a red Empire side chair with his left arm slung over the back and his hands clasped at lower right. He is wearing a black coat, black satin vest, a black bow tie, and a white, turned down collar. In the right background there is a column and green drapery. On the left is a landscape with hills, palm trees, and a glowing red sky.
