DescriptionPrint of the buildings at Yale College in New Haven, showing five multi-storied buildings, two with spires and crosses or weathervanes atop each, with a clock on the front of one. A picket type fence runs along the lane in front of these buildings, and various people can be seen in the doorways and on the grounds. On the closer side men can be seen playing ball, and one is sitting on a rail type fence, with another leaning on it. The buildings are colored red, and one male figure in the foreground is wearing red trousers and holding a blue ball.

Inscribed"A View of the BUILDINGS of YALE COLLEGE at New Haven / Drawn & Engraved by A. B. Doolittle / Published April 6th. 1807, by A. Doolittle & Son, College Street New Haven / as the Act directs"NotesConstituent note: The draftsman and engraver of the print is "A. B. Doolittle." It is unclear whether this is Amos Doolittle, his son Amos B. Doolittle, or an unrelated A. B. Doolittle. New-York Historical Society's Dictionary of Artists in America, 1564-1860, does contain separate entries for A. B. Doolittle and Amos Doolittle (1754-1832), but the National Gallery of Art, which holds this print in its collection, names Amos Doolittle as the draftsman and engraver. On View
