DescriptionThis round hat is made from a textured silk woven fabric. It does not have a brim, however; instead, a two-inch cuff of self-fabric has been formed at the base of the crown. Tucked along eight inches of the center front of this cuff are rows of white and black rib-woven silk ribbon. Approximately 1/16 inch of the white and 1/4 inch of the black ribbon are exposed. At the center back of the hat, 1/2-inch up from the bottom edge, is a decorative motif formed with black and white ribbons. The ribbons are formed in two overlapping "U" shapes with the angled ribbon edges reaching towards the center top of the crown. Black netting, approximately three inches long, is attached along the circumference of the hat at the lower edge, rising to two inches at the center back. Inside the lower edge of the crown, there is a one-inch wide length of black ribbon for additional support. The crown is lined in a polished black plain-woven cotton.
