DescriptionHead and shoulders portrait of Mehitabel (Smith) Gilman. She is facing slightly right. She has a pointed nose, high cheekbones, blue eyes, and brown hair parted in the middle, with curls hanging down on either side of her face, covering the upper part of her ear. She is wearing a dark blue dress with a low, square-cut neckline. The dress is fur-trimmed, with brown fur around the neck of the dress and over the shoulders, coming down both sides to a point in front at her waist, and is also on the sleeves.
