DescriptionWoman's winter wrapper of pink silk brocaded with a design of pink and white roses. The wrapper has a lining of quilted white silk; the quilting is machine-stitched in a diamond grid pattern. The neckline is high and round, with a turn-down collar covered with flounces of needlerun net lace and machine-made bobbin-type lace on pleated pink organdy. The lace continues down the center front opening to about the waistline. Extending from under the collar and lace on each side of the opening is a boa-like trimming of white and black feathers so thickly sewed together that they resemble fur. A looped strip of pink silk taffeta edged with black velvet finishes each end of the fur trim; when the wrapper is fastened, the loops of pink silk would come together to resemble a bow. Arranged like a bow under the collar in the back is another pair of loops of the pink silk edged with velvet. More needlerun lace is arranged in a ruffle over the shoulders and under the collar in back; ornaments of faux pearls and clear paste stones are pinned over the lace ruffles on the top of each sleeve. The full sleeves are closely gathered at the shoulder and are gathered in a ruffle around the wrist under a band of feathers. The center front opening fastens with brass hooks and eyes. The wrapper is constructed with a yoke; the front and back panels are pleated into the yoke and fall straight to the wrapper's bottom edge. An inverted box pleat is taken in each side seam at about waist level to create extra fullness in the skirt.
