DescriptionWoman's wrapper of cotton printed in a striped paisley-like design in shades of blue. The wrapper has a high, round neckline with a two-inch-wide square collar which is trimmed around the edges with black and white tape woven with a decorative chain design. The shoulders of the wrapper are decorated with shoulder-board-shaped strips of self-fabric, edged with the woven tape and self-fabric ruffles. The top of the slim, but gathered, sleeve is decorated with a five-inch-wide semi-circular wing of self-fabric, also trimmed with the woven tape and a ruffle. The sleeves are gathered into 1 3/4-inch-wide cuffs at the wrists; the cuffs fasten with a single black plastic button. The front of the wrapper bodice is constructed with a fitted lining made of plain, off-white cotton, edged along the front opening with the blue print. The opening fastens with seven buttons. Over this fitted lining, the fashion fabric of the wrapper falls straight and loose from where it is gathered at the base of the neck to the 8 1/4-inch-deep ruffle which encircles the bottom. The base of the neck fastens with a hook and eye. In back, the wrapper has a pointed yoke across the shoulders; the yoke is trimmed with the decorative tape. The center back is gathered into the bottom of the yoke and under a four-inch-wide, pointed band which is stitched at the waistline between the curved side back seams. There is no waist seam, but a self-fabric belt is stitched into the side seams for tying across the waist at front. Only the bodice is lined. There is a short length of blue wool tape stitched inside the back of the waistline for hanging the garment.
