DescriptionAdvertisement for Fire Insurance and steamship tickets available at the Savings Bank of Stafford Springs, by treasurer Alvarado Howard. The advertisement features a bust-view image of Rear Admiral William T. Sampson. Sampson has a gray beard and mustache, and is wearing a bicorne hat and naval uniform. His image is located to the right of an American flag, eagle gripping a shield, swords, bayonets, and a cannon. Directions for a knitted doily is affixed to the reverse with glue.
