DescriptionGirl's spoon bonnet, covered with quilted blue satin and edged with matching blue velvet. The quilting is machine-stitched in a diamond grid pattern. A wire stiffens the brim and neck edges. A velvet-covered wire (now loose) stabilizes the transition area from brim to crown on the inside of the bonnet. The bonnet's lining is missing, revealing the stiff tulle interlining. Two rows of ruched blue satin decorate the bonnet around the brim edge. The neck curtain ("bavolet") is 1 1/2 inch wide; it is pleated into the neck edge and is bound with blue velvet. The center back neck edge is decorated with a matching silk ribbon bow. One ribbon for tying the bonnet remains on the right side.
