DescriptionMan's waistcoat of silk double weave with a face of fine gold metallic threads. The waistcoat is embroidered with red foil flowers outlined with metallic coils, connected by vines outlined in gold-tone metal sequins. The waistcoat has a high, round neckline and center front opening that fastens with eleven buttons covered in gold-thread embroidery. The lower center front is cut away in an inverted V shape and the sides are flared towards the back. The backing fabric is a gold-colored plush. The waistcoat has been made larger by inserting a two-inch wide strip of the plush down the center back seam for 3 1/4 inches. The front of the vest is lined with a cream-colored silk twill. There is an interlining of plain linen.
