DescriptionFramed painting by Jay French showing the back of the Old State House in downtown Hartford from 777 Main Street (Connecticut National Bank building). It is snowing or sleeting, with diagonal lines to suggest driving precipitation. Several pedestrians hurry by on the sidewalk in front of the Old State House. There is scaffolding in the right foreground, and a construction crane in the center foreground. This probably depicts the construction of 777 Main. Part of Constitution Plaza is in the left background and the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company Building (the "Boat Building") is in the right background.
