(in order)."NotesSubject Note: Carl Schultz was born in Germany about 1868 and immigrated to the United States in 1880. His wife Mary was born in Germany about 1868 and immigrated to the United States in 1884. She was the daughter of Karl Schultz and Matilda Schoenborn. Their daughter Amanda, who appears as an infant in this portrait, was born in 1897. By 1910, the family was living in Manchester, Connecticut and Carl and the older children were working in the Cheney Brothers Silk Mills.
