Boards are piled in the foreground. Most of the men have mustaches. One has a beard. One wears eyeglasses. All wear suits and caps or hats. Most wear bow ties. One holds a book. One has a watch chain and fob.

Scoville, a Hartford architect and builder. "Caulkins" may be Willis E. Caulkins, of W.E. Caulkins & Co., contractors and builders. The Bulkeley Bridge opened to trolley traffic on December 8, 1907 and to the general public on December 21, 1907. The dedication of the bridge was the occasion of a three-day celebration on October 6,7, and 8, 1908.
