DescriptionInfant's long, white dress. It is constructed with a yoke decorated with vertical rows of pintucking and featherstitching. Across the bottom of the yoke is stitched a band of simple eyelet embroidery, edged with featherstitching. The skirt of the dress is closely gathered into the bottom of the yoke. It is also gathered into a 7 1/2-inch-long strip of the eyelet, edged with a floral eyelet ruffle, across the center front at the waistline. Two small mother of pearl buttons are stitched at each end of this strip. 36-inch-long self-fabric ties are mounted at the ends of the waistline strip, also. The ends of these ties are decorated with featherstitching and edged with a whipped ruffle of the floral eyelet. The sleeves are 7 1/2 inches long, and are gathered into the shoulder, which is also decorated with a ruffle of the floral eyelet. The ends of the sleeves are gathered into a cuff of the simple eyelet, again edged with the fine floral eyelet ruffle. The dress opens at center back for thirteen inches. It fastens with three mother of pearl buttons on the yoke and a drawstring at the neckline.
