DescriptionWoman's work or day dress, consisting of a bodice (.a) and skirt (.b), made of white cotton printed with a design of four-petaled flowers in shades of black. The dress has a round neckline with a 3/4-inch-wide standing band collar. The center front opening fastens with eleven mother of pearl buttons. The long, two-piece sleeves are gathered and full at the shoulders and taper slightly to the wrist, which is notched at the back seam. The bodice is fitted with two 9 1/2-inch-long darts on either side of the front, and with six pattern pieces across the back. The center back waistline is dipped. The bodice is patched with matching fabric on either side of the front, below the armholes.

The skirt is smoothly fitted across the front with darts, and is cartridge-pleated across the center back. There are two tiers of self-fabric ruffles encircling the bottom edge. The center back opening extends thirteen inches and fastens with a single dyed mother of pearl button at the one-inch-wide waistband. The button side of the waistband has been patched with a different black and white calico print. There is an inseam pocket on the proper right side.
