DescriptionMen, women, boys and girls stand or sit on the lawn of a two-story clapboard house. Pilasters flank the front door, which has an awning over it. A group of men and boys at the left play badminton or lawn tennis. One small girl appears to be barefoot. A dog sits beside the woman at farthest right. Rail fences surround the yard. A stone wall is in the left foreground. A dirt road leads down a hill. The slopes of the hillside beyond are divided into fields by stone walls and fences, apparently for use as pasture.
