Glastonbury, CT"NotesSubject Note: In 1814, Hartford Manufacturing Co. took over a gun powder mill to produce cotton sheeting and built company housing for employees taking advantage of a fifty foot stone dam and is identified in 1834 John Warner Barber drawings. J. W. Purtill Co. operated a paper mill around 1900 until it burned down in 1920.
