Sculptor Frederick Jones and his wife, artist Rebecca Jones, purchased and restored the houses and constructed the sculptures in the years between 1941, when they moved to Farmington, and 1974, when Frederick died. As of 2014, Jonesville still existed, although the houses and sculptures were private property.
