DescriptionMan's pants of undyed twill-woven linen. The legs are straight. The fly fastens with three bone buttons, and at the top in the waistband, a brass button. An extension behind the fly fastens on the proper left side with a single bone button. Pockets on each side of the front are covered by L-shaped flaps, which button at the corners with self-covered buttons. A variety of metal and bone buttons are stitched around the waistband for attaching the suspenders. The center back of the waistband is open, but there is no evidence of a strap and buckle ever being used. Short darts on either side of the back below the waistband help fit the seat. The pocket bags are made of plain-woven white cotton. The waistband is lined with the same.
