DescriptionView of the central part of Clinton. At the bottom of the hill, the road crosses the Indian River. A shipyard, probably belonging to a member of the Buell family, with a vessel under construction is visible at the left, half-hidden behind the house with the picket fence. On the right is a tavern with an oval sign. In the background, the Congregational Church stands on Meeting House Hill.
