DescriptionDistant view of the village of Clifton. In the foreground is a "stone wall" with fields beyond and a small "Apple" orchard at the right. The "water" at the left may be the Mad River. The village itself is located in a deep valley with "wooded" hills "interspersed with pines" beyond. A large church is prominent among the thickly clustered buildings.
