NotesSubject Note: The Cook family, whose involvement in the textile industry dates to at least the late eighteenth century, constructed a fulling mill in Preston, Connecticut in 1847. The family had operated a sawmill near the site since the late eighteenth century. The brick structure depicted here was enlarged around 1860. Photographs of the enlarged building are in the collection of the Preston Historical Society.
