DescriptionA large gothic revival house with a tour is surrounded by trees. The front door is open and a man sits on the porch holding a newspaper in his hand. A dog lies at his feet. At the right are three children and a donkey. One boy holds a battledore or racquet. The house is surrounded by a grassy lawn and ornamental shrubs. A dirt road or driveway is in the foreground.

NotesSubject Note: This estate was the country place of Morris Ketchum, located in Westport, Connecticut. about a mile north of the village. It was beautifully landscaped and known for exceptional breeds of cattle and domestic animals.

Genealogical Note: Morris Ketchum was born in Waterford, New York in 1796, son of Amos Ketchum and died 1 January 1880.
