DescriptionA bronze equestrian statue is located in the middle of a traffic circle in front of the Connecticut State Capitol. The granite base is inscribed: "LAFAYETTE". An automobile on the right is blurred from movement. Road signs read: "ONE / WAY" "STATE / EMPLOYEES / ONLY" "CAUTION". Traffic lights, street lights, a fire hydrant and additional road signs that read "WEST / 44" and "NORTH [?] 9" are at the far left. Leafless trees are on the grassy lawns of Bushnell Park and the State Capitol. The capitol building is in the Gothic style, with a gilded dome, pointed arches, rose windows, dormers, and iron roof cresting. An American flag flies from a flagpole on the roof.
