DescriptionBust-length portaits of two men, both wearing costs, vests, ties, and shirts, are framed by oval medallions with borders of laurel leaves linked by a bow. One man has a beard. Above the portraits, an eagle stands on six American flags on staffs. A shield is below the eagle. Below the portrait is an allegorical figure of justice, a woman dressed in classical drapery holding a sword and scales, and two cornucopias. Shocks of wheat, corn, pumpkins and other vegetables, bales, boxes, and what appear to be bolts of cloth spill from each cornucopia. Cannons and cannon balls are on the left and right. In the left distance is a railroad train and a city on a harbor or river. In the right distance is a ship under construction on the ways; additional vessels, including what appear to be two ironclads, are in the water in the background.
