DescriptionHand puppet of a daschund named "Hang-Dog-Harry." It is composed of a cloth body and a papier-mâché head painted (probably using watercolor) white with brown markings on the head, down the snout, and around the eyes. Its eyes consist of two identical marquise-shaped buttons made of a white metal with an oval synthetic gemstone, probably composed of a gray paste, inserted at the center. The puppet's mouth is open with a hanging tongue made of wire inserted into a pink wool fabric. The body, two ears, and the two sleeves that conceal the puppeteer's wrist and arms are made of a brown synthetic velvet fabric with a band of greenish/brown synthetic velvet encircling the neck. He also wears dog collar, approximately 1 1/4 inches wide, composed of metal chain and synthetic diamonds. Probably used in performances with puppet of "Henry Duck" (2013.182.3).
