DescriptionMost photographs depict large Victorian summer resort hotels. Two photographs by the Hartford photographer Prescott & White are of Larkin House, which may be located in Watch Hill, R. I. Another photograph is identified as Birdsell House in New Canaan, Connecticut. Two other hotels are unidentified, but may be in the Hartford area. A tall tower with a colonnade is identified as "observatory near Hartford, Conn." It appears to be situated near a lake.
