DescriptionSilver jewelry casket with ornate design throughout. The casket has one drawer that is mechanized to open when the roll top lid opened. The top of the casket has an image within a rectangle of a bird in flight surrounded by flowered branches. Handle of roll top lid is a flower design. The flower motif continues on the sides of the casket as well as the ornate feet.

Makers mark on bottom of casket, and within a circle, reads "MERIDEN / X (image of scales) X / B. COMPANY". Additional markings read, "PAT. OCT 22, 1878 / 53".
