He enlisted on 22 July 1862. He was mustered in to the Sixteenth Regiment Infantry Company D as a private on 24 August 1862. He was captured with his regiment on 20 April 1864 in Plymouth, North Carolina. He died in prison on 10 November 1864 in Andersonville, Georgia. (Ruocco 5/10/2012)
