InscribedOn verso, upper left, in black ink, "Timothy A Hart / Comp. E 19th / C.V."; lower right, in pencil, accession numberNotesSubject Note: Timothy Hart was from Winchester, Connecticut. He enlisted on August 7, 1862 and was mustered in to the Second Regiment Connecticut Heavy Artillery Company E as Private on September 11, 1862. He was promoted to Corporal on October 25, 1864 and then to Sergeant on March 1, 1865. He was discharged on July 7, 1865. According to an inscription on the photograph, Hart served in The Nineteenth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Company E. The Nineteenth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry later became the Second Regiment Connecticut Heavy Artillery. (Ruocco, 04/24/2012)
