DescriptionIrish stitch pocketbook, worked in crewel yarns on a linen canvas in diamond-like bands separated by zigzag borders. Predominant colors are shades of salmon pink and olive green, yellow, blue, cream, and lavender. The pocketbook has been taken apart, lined with a coarse striped olive wool and white cotton frocking, and bound with dark olive green velvet. It is poorly stitched with green and blue threads. A loop of the velvet is sewn at the top center, perhaps for hanging on the wall. The top edge is slightly scalloped.
