He was an alumnus of Trinity College and Harvard Law school. He was married to Emily Brace Collins for two years before he died and the couple had one child, Jane Hamersley Wright. (Ruocco, 03/24/2012)

Title Note: Another photograph (2011.63.167), apparently taken at the same time and place as this one, gives the location as "Black Point," which is in East Lyme. (Finlay 3/24/2012)
