DescriptionA scene from American history depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In the interior of Independence Hall, Philadelphia, five men present the Declaration to a man seated in an armchair on the right. Around the room, thirty-six other men stand or are seated. Banners, a drum, and trumpets are grouped on the back wall.
