DescriptionA man with a beard and mustache sits astride a rearing white horse. He wears a vest, a fur-lined overcoat, tight-fitting breeches, and boots. He holds a hat with a plume in his hand. NotesSubject Note: Louis Kossuth (1802-1894) was the Governor of Hungary who fought for its independence in the nineteenth century. He became the President of Hungary when it finally won its independence from Austria in 1849, but he had to give up his position when the Russians took over Hungary later that year.
