DescriptionThese white silk satin-woven slippers have a white cotton plain-woven lining and leather sole. The top edges of the slippers are trimmed with a silk rib-woven ribbon (1/4-inch wide). The toes are rounded. A decorative bow, composed of a shell buckle, 1 1/2-inch-wide white silk plain-woven ribbon, and 1 1/2-inch-wide white cotton lace is mounted at the top of the throatline of each shoe. Sewn into the side seams are narrow elastic bands. The elastic on the left shoe is 16 1/2 inches long and on the right shoe it is nineteen inches long. These slippers were worn with 2001.49.3a,b.
