DescriptionViews of damage in the aftermath of the 1938 hurricane and flood.
The photographs of the flood show buildings and trees deep in water as well as men wading nearly waist-deep in water and other men in a boat rowing through the water. In one photograph (.289) a sign can be seen reading, "FACTORY / ENTRANCE / EMPLOYMENT DEPT."
Some photographs show damage to barns and surrounding tobacco fields after the hurricane. In some photographs there are two men standing amidst the rubble. In one (.305), a utility pole with a fallen wire is visible in the background.
