DescriptionPhotographs document damage to frame cottages following the Hurricane of 1938. Cottages are lacking shingles, porches, or are off their pilings, in one case partially submerged in water. One cottage is lacking two walls and furniture, including a wicker armchair, is visible in the interior. Some cottages are surrounded by debris, probably from other cottages that were totally destroyed. Utility poles may show the location of a road. Salt marshes appear in some photographs.
