According to information in the object file, a label on the back of the coat of arms reads, "Painted about 1804 by/ Charlotte Perkins 1790-1878/ d. of Enoch & Anna (Pitkin)/ Perkins - b. & d. in a house on/ Main St. where the 'Linden'/ now stands - opp. McCook house".
