DescriptionFaux grained rectangular wooden box with a finial on the top side. The finial has a tiny cap over a mushroom shape, over a narrow, tapering neck. The base of the finial is a wooden peg inserted through a round hole in the top of the box. The box is constructed of a top piece and four sides that have been glued together. The bottom of one long side is cut about a quarter-inch shorter than the other three sides, creating a small opening at the bottom; the box has no bottom panel. The box was finished with faux graining after the finial was put on; some of the faux graining stains the base of the finial.
