DescriptionWoman's white track and field shoe with six spikes that screw into the sole for traction (one spike is missing). The shoe has three stripes on each side of the laces, red, blue, and red. The top of the back of the heel is light blue. Cream colored leather edges the bottom of the shoe around the sole. There is netting on the back half of the raised sole of the shoe.

MarkingsStamped in gold on the side of the shoe is "SPECIAL", with the three-leaf Adidas logo printed next to it.

Printed in white on the heel is the three-leaf Adidas logo over "adidas®".

Peeling gold lettering on the bottom of the interior of the shoe (partially illegible) reads, "adidas / MAR[K] M[IT] DEN 3 STREIFE / THE BRAND WITH THE 3 STRI[PES]".

A peeling blue label on the exterior of tongue has white lettering that reads, "adidas / DIE MARKE MIT DEN 3 STREIFEN / THE BRAND WITH THE THREE STRIPES / MADE IN WEST GERMANY".
NotesHistorical Note: In 1974, Janice Merrill-Morin became a member of United States National Teams in track and cross-country. She won numerous medals and championship titles. They include: two gold medals at the Pan American Games in 1975 and 1979; a silver medal in World Cross-Country in Madrid in 1981; a gold medal in the West German national championships in 1977; and two-time Bonne Belle National Champion.
