BiographyJoel Allen was working in Farmington in 1779 and in Middletown from 1791 to 1798. He made seals, stamps, flute tips, thimbles, watch papers, jewelry, cane heads, etc. He also lettered names on vessels, printed Freemasons' diplomas, and engraved book illustrations and music.
