Hartley Goodell

American, 1779 - 1861
BiographyHartley Goodell was born in Pomfret, Connecticut on 31 August 1779, the son of David Goodell, Jr. (b. 1753) and Lavina [or Levina] (Sabin) Goodell (d. 1802). He married Abigail Gleason on 19 May 1803. They had at least one son, Edward (b. 1809). The 1850 Federal Census lists Hartley and his wife living in Thompson, Connecticut. Hartley is listed as being a Cabinet Maker. Living with him is his son Edward, and another Abigail Goodell, whose birthplace is listed as Gloucester, Rhode Island, probably Edward's wife.
The 1860 Federal Census still places Hartley in Thompson, living with his wife Abigail, and also Edward, now listed as being a Mason, with his wife listed as Abby.
Hartley died on 28 March 1861.
