BiographyJonathan Danforth (b. 1766, Middletown) was the fourth son of Thomas Danforth II. He apprenticed with his father and older brother Joseph, and began his own business in 1787/1788. He had a business partnership with William Danforth, beginning about 1790, and ending in 1794. About a year later, Jonathan Danforth was in Hartford and involved in land and mercantile transactions with his younger brother Daniel Danforth.
