BiographyDr. Abel Catlin was born either 16 or 18 March 1770. He was the son of Avis Buel Catlin (1744-1807) and Lieutenant Thomas Catlin (1737-1829). He married his first wife, Jerusha Ely (1764-1805) on 10 October 1790. He married his second wife, Mary Ely Peck (1781-1860) (widow of Virgil Peck) on 20 March 1808. Dr. Catlin died on 13 January 1856.
