BiographyAvis Buel was born 26 January 1744. She was the daughter of Avis Collins Buel (1714-1754) and Deacon Peter Buel (b. 1710). She married Lieutenant Thomas Catlin (1737-1829) on 25 December 1763. They had at least one son, Dr. Abel Catlin (1770-1856) of Litchfield, Connecticut. Avis Buel Catlin died 24 June 1807.
