BiographyJoseph Danforth II was the son of Joseph Danforth I (1758-1788) and Sarah King Danforth. He and his twin brother, who died in infancy, were born 14 March 1783. Joseph Danforth is on the Middletown, Connecticut, tax lists from 1803-1807, but he later moved to Virginia. In 1807, he married Frances Heath in Petersburg, Virginia. Joseph Danforth II fought in the War of 1812, and from 1812 until his death, he was superintendent of the capitol at Richmond. Joseph Danforth II died 11 November 1844.
